On the year 2004, an architect named Abin Chaudhuri designed a building to keep the memories of the famous poet still alive. The project was executed by infrastructure development corporation limited(IDC) in Newtown kolkata.
On the 100th birthday of Kavi Nazrul Islam in 2015, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee inaugurated the famous architectural design. The cinema hall first took off in August of the same year. After that, on November of the same year the film festival was also held here. Then after Every year an art exhibition is also held here.
Several functions are also held in the middle of the building, it is enough spacious and an the open-air stage many tourist VIP comes here to see the programs. Up above there is the theater, and you will also find a restaurant called nababiana(Multicuisine restaurant ). Besides their is also an art gallery in which you can get some great visual of art.In the art gallery you will get to see some scripts and signature of nazrul Islam.You will also find some books of nazrul Islam which he wrote in 40tees On the first floor of the Nazrul Tirtha, Kolkata you will find some shops of handicrafts, with awesome collections of handcrafts but according to us the prices are still on the higher range,if you are thinking of the quality then its wish justify you with the prices.
