Barbeque Nation

Hello peeps, so today we are gonna share our dine in and delivery experience with Barbeque Nation

Dine in experience:

There are a few chains of restaurants that can keep up with the quality and consistency of Barbeque Nation. I had visited the Barbeque Nation outlet at New town City Centre II to experience the live grill, which was the first time for me. And boy, I was impressed!

The second time I decided to try out a different outlet, and after a few discussions, we decided to settle for the Diamond Plaza, Jessore Road outlet. When it comes to food, it becomes kinda impossible to justify the variety of foods on offer. No matter how hard one tries, but any praises for the craftsmanship of Barbeque Nation is bound to be an understatement. One is bound to get spoiled for choices, as you would be getting more than 50 dishes to relish.

I loved the starters, especially the chilli garlic prawn , lamb seekh, chicken tikka, roasted wings, charcoal grilled pineapple, Cajun spiced potatoes and crispy masala corn. You should not miss out on the prawn and roasted wings. They are just delicious. The main course needs a bit of an improvement both in terms of quantity and quality to come up to the level of starters. As for the deserts, I love their brownies, kulfis and obviously angoori gulaab jamun.

Delivery –

This experience after the lockdown period ended. We wanted to try out the non vegetarian meal in a box from Barbeque Nation and ordered it from Zomato but I was really disappointed. I really had great hopes regarding this particular item on their menu since it was launched but that day I really found it to be a waste of money.

What I liked:

Prawns – these were my personal favourite. The prawns were well seasoned and had a great smoke flavour.

Chicken wings - loved their slight spiciness and texture.

Reshmi kabab – the chicken was soft and has a slight sweetness to it. Loved it

Gulab jamun – my favourite amongst desert. I wish there were more!

Phirni – it was thick and creamy. I personally would have liked it a tad bit sweeter.

Brownie – good one though a bit dry.

Chicken dum biriyani- it was aromatic and tasty but the portion size was really small. Not even enough for one person.

Malabar paratha – they were soft and flaky. Really liked them.

What I did not like:

Hara bhara kabab – this vegetarian starter was not upto the mark. The kabab was filled with mashed potatoes which were not even peeled properly.

Smoked pineapple – it just tasted like plain pineapple seasoned with salt and pepper and roasted. There was not any smoky flavour.

Fish finger – we were promised with 5 fish fingers but were given only 4. Moreover the fish was not seasoned properly.

Chicken butter masala – we were promised chicken do pyaza but were sent chicken butter masala. It tasted bland. The chicken pieces were really small.

Mutton rogan josh – the only thing I loved about the dish is tenderness and size of pieces. The taste was bland. The mutton was not seasoned properly.

Dal makhani – it was bland.

The packaging was not upto the mark. The gravies were spilled a bit and created a mess.

Overall I would suggest everyone that if you want to try out this restaurant, please go to the place and enjoy your food and do not opt for delivery. However all the reviews are based on my personal opinion.
