Kolkata International Film Festival 2022 - the cultural capital of the West Bengal
28th edition of the Kolkata International Film Festival organized by the Information and Cultural Affairs Department, Government of West Bengal scheduled to be held between 15 - 22 December 2022 in Kolkata Nandan.
Kolkata International Film Festival is an initiative started by the honorable chief minister Mamata Banerjee in the year 2011 with a motive to reach people's hearts with the culture of Kolkata. Kolkata Film Festival touches the hearts of thousands of cine lovers who wait every year to get absorbed in the festivity of world cinema. Last two years, Kolkata Film Festival has been low-key due to the pandemic.
Leaving the past behind this year the Kolkata International Film Festival took off with Amitabh Bachchan, and Shah Rukh Khan as the chief guests
There will be five competition categories in the festival, it said.
These segments include International Competition Innovation in Moving Images, Competition on Indian Languages, Asian Select (NETPAC Award), National Competition on Documentary, and National Competition on Short Fiction.
